In order to successfully add value, there must be a fit with the client, those directly involved in the project and the organization culture.
That is why it is important to get upfront acquainted. Of course without obligation in first instance.
First of all, the required knowledge, expertise and skills must match the profile of the interim position. This can be done ‘on paper’, but preferably face-to-face or via a teams, zoom, google meet, etc.
The next step is to explore the personal/organizational fit. This meeting is preferably face-to-face (teams, zoom, google meet, etc. possible) with at least the client, but preferably also with those directly involved in the assignment.
For both fits, it is the responsibility of both the interim manager and the client to be critical about this and, in case of doubt, not to continue.
